The $36.5 million T. L. Amiss Water Treatment Plant Ozone Improvements Project is the
largest individual capital project in Shreveport history. The project began the summer of
2021 and is currently 35% complete. Major work completed includes:
- Grading and construction of equipment pad and retaining wall for new carbon dioxide system
- Construction of new chemical injection vaults on raw water lines
- Construction of a new chemical injection vault for the flash mix
- Installation of new underdrain caps, sand, and granular activated carbon media in all 16 filters at WTP 1
Delivery of all ozone equipment is expected in the upcoming months. Major work currently
in progress modifications to the plant’s chlorine and ammonia systems.
