Clean Water Shreveport was able to support Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and raise over our goal of $1,000 to gift a family with three small children and a newborn everything on their Christmas lists this year. CASA provides support, training, resources, and oversight to maintain high-quality programs that serve children’s best interests, advocating for legislation that benefits children in foster care and the CASA volunteers who work on their behalf (Louisianacasa.org). By building, supporting, and advocating for abused and neglected children, CASA’s vision is that every child is assured a safe and permanent home.
All of the items were dropped off with the children’s parents, who were also given wrapping paper so that they could wrap the gifts for Christmas morning. The excitement of seeing wrapped gifts under the Christmas tree is a joyous moment for most children, and this year four more children will smile a bit bigger!
